Fourth Friday of the Month "Bread of Life" FDD Peter Fahey

The fourth Friday of each month is the Santa Maria Council's date to feed the needy of our community. As usual we will be asking for some help between 4-7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church on Main Street in Malden. 

The evening starts off with preparing the meal, getting the trays and all the fixings ready for the 6:00 PM dinner. This is the fun part for the kitchen help. It is hustle and bustle time trying to feed some 75-100 guests as quick as possible so everyone gets a nice meal. 

After dinner it is clean up time where Brother Tom gets to wash all the dirty dishes while the rest of is work on cleaning up the hall and putting everything in order. 
It takes about 7 to 8 people to prepare the meal and it takes 10 to 12 people to serve the meal and the rest of the time is spent visiting with our guests and cleaning up. 

Remember! more hands help make the job go quicker.

After we are finished at the church we go back to the council and enjoy each others company, real fraternalism. Sometimes we even help the Grand Knight with his monthly news letter.

I want to thank all who have helped in the past and invite the rest of the brothers and their families to come join us. Remember the 1st degree of the Knights of Columbus is Charity. At Santa Maria Council we are practicing what that principal. Let us all join in and show Malden that we are an active council that supports our community.
