Times are changing...

When the Industrial Revolution came a long a couple of hundred years ago, some backed away from the new technologies, often for very good reasons. The new machines were noisy, dirty, and frequently incredibly dangerous. Some of the new ways of doing things left behind a ruined countryside. Others made "wage slaves" out of people. Old, comfortable ways of doing things were challenged, and often defeated, by "progress". The traditional apprentice, journeyman, master system withered as entire crafts and guilds were swallowed up by manufactured replacements.

There's some very real evidence that the Industrial Age has passed beyond its maturity and is moving into decline. Only the most efficient industries are surviving, frequently employing far fewer people than the businesses they grew away from. We are now in what many consider to be the Information Revolution, which is becoming the Information Age.

Some see this as a threat, others as an unparalleled opportunity.

It's not every day we have the chance to decide how we will approach the way we do business --- that's something that was most often decided long before we arrived on the scene. The problem is, that there are a lot of other businesses that are out for whatever they can get. We have a somewhat different approach that we would like to share with you.

The first part of our business approach is trustworthiness When many of us were growing up, the most important thing for the best businesses was to be as honest as the day was long. Somewhere along the line a good share of that quality has either been lost or set aside for easier times. Once we begin doing business with you, though, we will be listening to what our parents and grandparents taught us about doing our best for others.

We are in the consulting business because we have developed skills in using computers, software, and communications technologies. We've added a lot of innovative, honest marketing techniques into the mix to come up with new ways of doing business. While we could keep most of our knowledge to ourselves, our goal is to do our level best to help you to learn how to do a lot of what we do. We want you to be able to become independent of our services through developing your skills, and we grow by helping you to help yourself in this new Information Age.

Quality services are important to everyone. Whenever we do a project, we will be learning more about our craft, even as we learn more about how you operate your own business. We will all end up becoming more effective at what we do. The best businesses are those that do not "rest upon their laurels" when they do a good job, and they will be seeking to do just that little bit better than they did yesterday. So, we'll be asking for your feedback on how we might be able to improve our services still more.

As we work with you, we will do our best to take away the "techie mystique" that can become a barrier to effective communication. After all, what good is a computer or an Internet presence to you if it seems that it will take forever to learn how to use it effectively? A computer is no more than a reasonably sophisticated tool that is designed to help you become more productive. We want you to become more comfortable with the computers that are becoming more an more a part of your life. Most of them are, after all, easier to deal with than trying to program your VCR to record a particular show on a particular channel while you are away on a two week vacation...

We encourage simplicity in Internet presence design because we know that you want to have a web site that is really effective in supporting your business. While all the bells and whistles are sometimes nice to have, they can really make a web page slow to load. People who are in a hurry are often not patient enough to wait for the full effect of a page with animation and sound if it won't give them the information they came to see right away. It's just something we like to ask you to think about, and we like to build on the idea of simplicity in all of our services. The more complicated we make things, the less likely you are to enjoy doing them for yourself.

It's important to us that we meet your needs, providing you with the best quality service possible, at a fair price that you can afford. We hope that our business relationship with you will be a lasting one, and that we can assist you in helping your business to grow.
