Dead of Winter: Writing the Ghost Story
The Victorians t
old them at Christmas, Balzac, Poe, deMaupassant and Kipling felt they were fundamental to the writer’s craft yet, as Pulitzer-prize winner Michael Chabon writes, “the ghost story has been consigned to the ghetto of sub-genre.” Come invoke a literary séance with phantasmagorical masters of the art like James (both of them), Lovecraft and Edith Wharton. By the end of our ghastly resurrections, you’ll each have your own terrifying tale.
WARNING: Classes will be held in a real-life haunted house!

In the meantime, you can read up on local hauntings in the Seattle Times, check out the Washington section of Haunted Hotspots, book yourself a ghost hunting show, or even train to be a ghost hunter yourself.
