Jack ("Jakk") Longacre, founder of the Highpointers Club, started this project years ago. He invited highpointers from all around the country to send in signs with their state's highpoint identified, along with the distance to Taum Sauk, Missouri's highpoint.

Now, in conjunction with the Jakk Longacre Memorial Site Project, we're looking to finish the collection and make the signpost a permanent part of the Memorial.

If you'd like to be a part of this project, we still need the following states: Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Dakota, and Virginia. All that's required is that you identify your state highpoint, the distance to Taum Sauk and keep the sign in the ballpark of 4 x 24 inches.
