Dinner at Bart's
? - November 1955 - ?

Table hopping Gene Brendler, genial M.C., combines spontaneous interviews with diners at Bart's with guest appearances of many interesting and worthwhile personalities.  Part of the show is devoted to showing of the latest in fashions for women fro Pierre's Salon of Beauty and Fashion.

KPTV's casual, informal "Dinner at Bart's" program which originates from Bart's Broiler at 10:30pm every Monday is fun to attend in person or by means of your TV screen.  Everybody or anybody may be seen on camera.

Idea for such a program was originally conceived by Betty Allen of Pacific National advertising agency.  It was an ambitious undertaking and the early programs reflected some of the problems encountered in production of a two-camera TV show in a very limited amount of space.  However, through trial and error on these first shows, the difficulties have been ironed out and a smooth production is the result.

Programs are planned for the future with an eye to the enjoyment of the viewer and the on-the-spot audience.  Suggestions and comments from these sources are used as a guide in the selection of forthcoming programs.

Guests in the past have included members of "Desperate Hours," Chuck Holloway, Jr., president of the United Fund, and Menalkas Selander, one of Oregon's most renowned artists, and other well-known personalities.

One future show will feature Oregon's most popular sport, skiing.  Another will have as its theme winter vacations in Honolulu (there'll be a hula demonstration by a certain slick chick, whose name we can't reveal at the moment).  And, of course, for Christmas at Bart's, Old St. Nick will be in attendance.

Aside from the actual program content, which makes it good viewing, it is worthwhile to attend in person to get an on-the-spot slant of TV production.
