"Due to circumstances beyond our
control, the program usually seen at this time will be presented." That was
the opening line from Portland's first TV disc jockey show, which featured Bob McAnulty,
a popular radio disc jockey and TV employee. Also featured were pantomimists Jan
Webster and Harry Godsil, who acted out the latest hit tunes from Mac's Record
Shop.
The 15-minute show opened with Jan and
Harry pantomiming a popular song. Music consisted of three numbers: one upbeat,
a novelty tune and a ballad. When Jan and Harry finished with the first number,
the scene shifted to Mac's Record Shop where the three platter peddlers chatted
about the latest disc doings. As Mac spun each hit patter in his shop, Jan and
Harry acted out the theme of the song.
