Reasons I Ride:

Native Planet Classic June 20, 2009

I found my big ride for 2009!  I'm going to ride in the Native Planet Classic.  It's a beautiful yet very challenging bike ride through the North Cascade Mountains of Washington State. This is a benefit ride that will help Native Planet in its mission to save some of the world's most traditional indigenous cultures. The routes range from 28 to 127 miles with an elevation gain as high as 10,400 feet! I am going to challenge myself and ride the  super century 127-mile route.

I did it!  You can READ MY RIDE REPORT HERE!

October 2009

Autumn!  Blue skies, warm days, cold clear nights, crisp air, orange harvest moons, geese flying overhead, trees decked out in vibrant colors, sweaters, and great autumn bike rides.  Summer ended a month ago along with those wonderful summer rides but autumn has some pretty good things to offer too.  Some of the best days for being outside on your bike come in October.  I’ve already completed two fall rides with two left to do.  Then it will be time to take my road bike in for a good checkup, get my mountain bike out and get ready for some muddy weather rides on some of my favorite trails this winter.  On the occasional sunny cold day I will bundle myself up in my tights, thermals, toe warmers, and winter gear for a 20 mile road ride but winter is a time for snow, mud, and rain.  I will get through it and come spring it will start all over again.

New Road Bike! :)

I bought a new road bike on Sunday, June 22, 2008!  It's a Women's Specialized Ruby Expert Compact.  The Carbon/Gold!  She's beautiful.
