Very Truly Yours"Things You Used to Say"
Catalogue No: SKY-03 DescriptionDavid Greenwald (Billboard, Nylon, Flaunt) calls Very Truly Yours “as winsome as the Cardigans, as pale blue-sad as The Softies,” and dubbed their 2009 Cloudberry Records single, “1234” the “most adorable indie pop gem of the year” and 8th best song of 2009. President of CHIRP Radio, Shawn Campbell, named their “Reminders” EP, the best EP of 2009. On March 26, 2010, Very Truly Yours unveils their debut full length, “Things You Used To Say,” on Portland’s Skywriting Records. Heavily influenced by chamber pop and 1960’s nostalgia, “Things You Used To Say” brings girl group harmonies to the forefront, backed by “wall of sound” orchestration. They combine these elements with lyrical sketches of everyday life to create timeless pop songs. Formed in the Summer of 2008, Very Truly Yours represented Chicago in New York City’s Popfest, has been featured in The Chicago Reader, Chicago Sun Times, UK’s Iconoclastic Cardies, Peru’s Susy Records zine, and shared the stage with The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, The Drums, Dent May, and Rose Melberg among others. “Things You Used to Say” is Very Truly Yours’s first offering of 2010, which will be followed by a 7” single on Cloudberry Records and a CDEP on WeePop! Records. Listen to the title track and single "Things You Used to Say" below: |
