HPS Campaign Corinth

OOB and 3D Icon Data

Before creating my second units.bmp file I did some research on the Corinth OOB, Units.bmp and 3D icon files. The download below contains the result of that research. I used the original OOB files to determine which pictures were used for which side and what 3D icons were used for which picture. I then created a test oob and inserted all the letters from A to z and determined what the game engine made of each letter. This gave me a list of all the weapon types available in the game. With this data I created the files listed below.

Some of these files have been updated to include the changes from the Ozark and Franklin games. Since Ozark and Franklin do not permit mods I do not intend to try to make a leaders.bmp for them. The additional units in the Ozark and Franklin 3D icon files can cause problems with the Corinth OOB's so I have made no effort to modify them.

Weapon_list is a list of all the weapons available in the Corinth game, their ID letter and for the guns the location of their associated picture. An * next to the unit picture number indicates I assigned it to that picture. This was only done to pictures that were not in the original OOB's and where the original picture would appear to be of the same or similar type weapon. The Ozark game has resulted in the addition of a w (2.25" Mountain Rifle) weapon and the file has been updated to reflect this addition, there do not appear to be any changes or additions for the Franklin game.

PDT Weapons is a txt file containing all the info needed for the PDT file for the weapons in the weapon list. There are still weapons that have not been defined in any of the games yet so this file is incomplete. It has been updated with the PDT from Ozark and Franklin. There is a z weapon in the Ozark PDT that has not been identified by the game engine except as a z weapon.

Units_list is a list of all the unit pictures for Corinth giving a description of the color picture I pasted into the original file. I used the same pictures for guns, boats and wagons in both files and tried to put similar infantry/cavalry pictures in both versions of the units.bmp file. There are still some B/W pictures for units I could not find a suitable color replacement. The file has been updated with the additions put in for Ozark and can be used in the Ozark game. The new units.bmp created for Franklin uses many of the same pictures although some of them are used for the other side in Franklin when compared to Corinth or Ozark. A c in the USA/CSA column indicates it was in the original Corinth OOB's, an o indicates it was in the Ozark game and a f indicates Franklin. An x indicates I assigned it to that side and it is usable in the Corinth and Ozark game.

Inf_Cav_icons_list is a description of the various 3D icons for Corinth and the changes to the infantry cavalry files (3DUnits100b/50b and 3DUnits100c/50c) that I've altered to suit my own personal tastes. You can use the original 3DUnits files with these files. The only difference will be in the 3D appearance of a few units, notably the Irish Brigade and the U.S. Sharpshooters. There were several changes to these files for the Ozark and Franklin games. I have made no effort to standardize these as the games do not interest me enough to do so.

Art_icons_list is a list of the Corinth 3D artillery icons, no changes were made to these files, it is just included for information purposes. The Ozark and Franklin files appear to be the same as Corinth.

Union_list, Rebel_list are files I created to help in making oobs. It has a list of all the union/rebel units, their picture number and suggested 3D icon number. It too has been updated to include the Ozark file but does not include the Franklin file.

Cor_Ldr_lst.txt is a list of all the leaders in my expanded leaders.bmp file giving name, picture number, row and col location and whether the picture has been verified. If a BG is in that column then the picture was taken from a BG leaders file and I could not verify if it was that officer. I have sucessfully loaded this file into Excel, Lotus and MS Works as a spreadsheet.

Cor_OOB_problems.txt is a list of all the leaders I could not find for the various OOB's I've modified. If you know where I can get a picture of them I will be happy to add them to the file.

Finally a word about the names you use in your OOB's. The space available in the units display area limits you to 19 spaces max for names and descriptions. If you use more than that it will be centered in the text area and the excess cut off. Keep this in mind when making your OOB's if you want to have good looking unit displays.
