7 Night BERMUDA

NCL Dawn in Bermuda
Norwegian Cruise Line
NCL Dawn - Bermuda R/T New York
June 1 - 8, 2008

We decided to do a NCL Cruise to Bermuda in June this year. We chose the Norwegian Dawn, one of the newer ships in the fleet. Since you never know how the weather will be, we decided to arrive on Saturday for the Sunday departure.

LGA Marriott Hotel The New York LaGuardia Airport Marriott is situated close to the airport and also the Port of NYC - Manhattan . Since the hotel has a courtesy shuttle from the airport, we decided that would be the perfect location for us. After gathering our baggage we called the hotel and the shuttle picked us up outside the baggage claim area.

We spoke to the bell captain about getting from the hotel to WTC Ground Zero. He told us how to get there via public transportation. The hotel sells passes for MTA which we purchased. Once again we used the hotel shuttle to get to the airport bus stop. See my New York page for more details of our stay.

Cabin 11586 - Mini Suite Our home for the next 7 nights was a Balcony Mini-suite cabin 11586 on Deck 11. We selected this size cabin because our son was also cruising with us, and this type of cabin provides a sleeper sofa bed in addition to the two beds that convert to a queen size bed. Each night the cabin steward would turn down the beds and pull the curtain to make two private sleeping accomodations for us.

One hint: make sure to ask for an egg crate mattress for the sleeper sofa bed. It will make for a more comfortable sleep. No need to get one for the main bed as those have been recently upgraded and are quite comfortable.

As usual, I will describe the ports that we visited on our cruise. On this particular sailing, several shore excursion tours were possible. Visit the page for each port to find out what tours we took.
