Akitas started slow but had a strong second half. Ref called 9 fouls on Akitas and none of LC team. Their two goals were off of a free kick and a penalty kick. We nearly got “home towned” by the Ref in this one.

Gave up too many opportunities on set plays (direct kicks). Close game, the Boca Juniors scored one goal off a kick-off just after the Akitas took the lead. The Akitas scored again just after to take the win.

The Sandia Cup website had the score 3-1 although I don’t recall us scoring. The Aztecas beat the Akitas 2-1 in Las Cruces, very good team. Their first score was on a direct kick (again).

Akitas were up 2-0 early and let this one go. A foul in the box for a PK (goal), a defensive mistake (goal) and a foul for a free kick (goal) cost us another chance to play the Axtecas in the Championship game. Akitas dominated early but multiple fouls caught up.
