Details of the Brick Project

Back to the Home Page

As a major kick-off campaign we are sponsoring a brick project. If you need a brochure mailed to you email Kyle at kstark18@comcast.net  and include your address. Individuals are able to give up to $200 per year and families up to $400 per year to community foundation endowment funds and receive a 50% Michigan tax credit. Many businesses will match funds given by their employees to community foundations. Please check with your employer. Forms to order bricks can be found here.

For a gift, Richmond alumni, fans, and friends may sponsor bricks that will form the building blocks of a successful endowment fund and help make this project a reality. These bricks will surround a hand-carved sculpture, representing all past sports, on an inside wall by the new high school gymnasium creating a beautiful entrance to an awesome place where athletic and academic memories are made.  RACE will accept orders for personalized bricks until all are sold. Orders will be accepted through November 30th of each calendar year for each section of the wall.

The basis behind an Endowment Fund is to have donors give directly to the fund principal, which remains intact. The annual income is the only money spent. Part of the annual income is granted out for projects and programs K-12 and part reinvested to help the fund grow. Grant forms will be distributed every April and November to all teachers, coaches, students and other personnel. The grant advisory board is open to any current or former parent of a current or former student-athlete.

We have teamed up with Four County Community Foundation who has been working in Lapeer, Macomb, Oakland and St. Clair counties since 1987. Many area school districts including Almont, Armada, Capac, Dryden, Imlay City, and Romeo belong to Four County.

The fund is a step in the right direction although it will take years for the balance of the fund to be large enough so the interest earned can sustain our part of the athletic program for K-12 children. We feel small steps are better than no steps.

We hope the permanence, simplicity, public accountability, philanthropic recognition and tax benefits along with meeting the needs of our children now and in the future will help you decide to become a part of this team effort.

By placing your order today, you can play an important role in Richmond's athletic history. Together, we can carry the Richmond K-12 children into the 21st century.
