""Meet the Artist 2006" took place on Oct. 14 and 15,2006. We had a wonderful weekend thanks to the efforts of Ruth Matthews who arranged a marvelous tour of the Toledo Museums of Art's new Glass Pavilion and opened her beautiful home,once again, for a delightful evening of dining and sharing stories. New faces and old set out Saturday afternoon for the lovely autumn drive into Toledo ,where our own personal docent took us through the five galleries of glass and detailed the history of the magnificent pieces on view to the public. We would like to see more marbles on display and voiced that opinion to all who would listen! Saturday evening gave us an opportunity to mix and mingle with collectors and old friends. The food was outstanding and the Matthews family are the ultimate hosts. Sunday we watched Mark labor over 1/2 full,1/2 empties. He already had two batches prepared for the weekend in amazing oranges, yellows and chocolate browns. Perfect for our fall gathering.
