Steel Rain
 
Before I discovered GZG's Dirtside rules, I started writing my own 1/300 scale sci-fi armor rules.  I wanted to make my own rules flexible and easy to play, but with enough depth to really capture the complexity and depth of modern and future warfare.  I also wanted to give the infantry and supporting functions more teeth than they have in games such as BattleTech and Epic 40,000.

The result was Steel Rain, which still needs plenty of work.  Among the changes I want to try to include:
  • Streamline weapons-fire resolution;  get rid of tables, if possible
  • Simplify movement modifiers
  • Change vehicle design process to include custom weapons design
  • Simplify handling of hidden/unspotted units
