Fight Rules and Regulations
Listed below are the fight rules and regulations for 911 Slugfest
events.
911 SLUGFEST RULES AND OPERATION

1)
ELIGIBILITY
Must be a full time fire fighter or
sworn/merit law enforcement officer or retired.
Must pass the fight doctors physical
examination.
You can not be a professional
fighter.
Anyone with over 4 sanctioned
amateur fights does not qualify.
2) SAFETY
AND SPORTSMANSHIP
The doctor
overrules everyone.
The referee,
doctor, corner man or fighter may stop the contest.
Standing 8-counts
will be given liberally.
The fight will be
stopped if:
A count of 10 is
reached on a knockdown.
It is felt
fighter should not continue for safety reasons.
The fighter can
not or will not fight or defend himself/herself.
Any
unsportsmanlike
like conduct.
Stoppages will be
liberal.
Earrings, Body
piercing and jewelry must be removed, taped or covered.
Any consumption
of alcohol before or during the competition will result in immediate
disqualification.
All fighters must
fight in the appropriate weight class:
HEAVYWEIGHT 210 - ABOVE
LIGHT HEAVY
WEIGHT 190 - 209
MIDDLE
WEIGHT 170 - 189
WELTERWEIGHT 150 - 169
LIGHTWEIGHT
149 - UNDER
WOMEN’S DIVISIONS
DECIDED AT LATER DATE
If there are no
entries in any given division, largest division may be split.
Super Heavyweight
division may be added.
Women’s divisions
will be within 15 pounds of both competitors, except for open-ended
light or heavy.
3) FIGHTER
CONTEST RULES
This is an
elimination tournament with multiple rounds. Winners will advance.
3 - 1 minute
rounds will be separate with one minute rest periods.
Scoring is done
by a 10-point must system.
One referee and
three judges will officiate each fight.
Each fight will
be decided by Knockout, Technical Knockout, Judges decision or
disqualification.
If fight is
determined to be a draw, option will be given to both fighters to
fight a fourth round.
If one accepts
and one declines, the accepting fighter moves to the next round, but
fight is still a draw.
If both accept,
the winner is determined by the fourth round only.
Standing 8-counts
are in effect.
There is no three
knockdown rule.
Contact is
allowed with the striking surface of the gloves ONLY!
Front and side of
the trunk of the body, above the belt is acceptable contact.
Front and side of
the head, in front of the ears is acceptable contact.
If anything other
than the bottoms of the feet touch the canvas, a knockdown or slip has
occurred.
Neutral corners
(white) are to be utilized if your opponent is knocked down, slips or
you are directed there.
Prohibited
conduct includes:
Holding and
hitting.
Striking when
opponent is down.
Tackling,
throwing or tossing to the canvas.
Pushing through
the ropes.
4.) TRAINERS
AND CORNER MEN
Experienced and
professional corner men are provided.
Your own trainers
or corner men must be pre-registered.
Maximum of two
admitted, free of charge.
Your registered
corner men must work your corner.
Must have
experienced corner men.
Corner men must
exit the ring upon the command of seconds out.
All corner men
must stay off the ring apron during fight time.
All corner men
must arrive with the fighter..
A SLUGFEST
Inspector must oversee all corner operations.
Automatic
disqualification for any fighter who’s corner men enter the ring or on
the apron during an altercation.
5) EQUIPMENT
All gloves and
headgear are provided.
Groin protections
is mandatory for males but not provided.
Mouth guards are
mandatory for all fighters but are not provided.
Tape or hand wraps
are mandatory and provided.
All corner supplies
are provided.
