Crestmont’s Faith Builder’s Home Group Ministry Experience Deeper Life Change
What is a Faith Builder’s Home Group?
A Faith Builder’s Home Group is a group of 5 to 10 people who form a “basic Christian community.” Because member of local churches could not possibly receive the equipping needed to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ simply by attending a one to one and one half hour worship service each wee, Crestmont Alliance Church has developed our home group ministry around the idea that transformation, intimate relationships, and pastoral care happen best in a small group environment. Why Should I Join A Faith Builder's Home Group?
God wants us to be transformed into the image and very likeness of Jesus Christ, and Jesus in turn wants us to redeem our communities. Each Faith Builder's Home Group focuses on just that by building relationships with one another, and most importantly with Jesus. As those relationships grow, you will naturally want to reach out to others and invite them to join your fellowship. You will be connected with the church family and will receive the blessings of the intimate relationships and friendships that develop. It will be an encouragement in this chaotic world to be able to share joys, sorrows, and victories together. Through a Faith Builder's Home Group, you will experience relational connectedness, mutual support, and spiritual transformation more into the likeness of Jesus Christ while at the same time being used by Jesus to help in the redeeming work necessary and so needed in our surrounding communities. What Happens At A Typical Faith Builder's Home Group Meeting?
Regular meetings are scheduled for one hour and thirty minutes. That one hour and thirty minutes has five components woven into it; Ice Breaker, Worship, Prayer, Bible Application, and a Fellowship Time. This agenda is meant only to be a frame work for the leader's creativity. Flexibility practiced by each group leader allows their particular group to discover a schedule that is most effective for them. The personality of the group will determine and dictate the length of each home group component as well as the order of them. There may be times when one or more element doesn't happen at a weekly meeting. This is where flexibility shows its value. Creative leadership discerns and then employs the ideas and format that best fits their individual group.
How Often Does A Home Group Meet?
It is recommended that home groups meet three of the four weeks per month, taking one week off per month to allow for busy schedules. However, some groups prefer to meet every week and only take a week off from time to time. As the group dynamic and composition develop and begin to gel, those factors will be, for the most part, largely responsible for the determination of the meeting schedule.
Do I Have To Be A Member Of Crestmont To Join A Home Group?
Absolutely not! We encourage participation in a home group for anyone who calls Crestmont their home church as well as for anyone who would like to be part of a group or that has been invited into a home group regardless of their church, or lack of church, affiliation.
Is There Childcare Available?
Each group deals with this issue in its own way. Some groups make arrangements for a baby sitter. However, most groups require each participant to make their own childcare arrangements. That question can best be addressed at the time you decide on a group night that best fits your schedule.
