Kyle L. Miller Kyle is from a small town in Central Pennsylvania, and is a student at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He became interested in genealogy and his family history before high school, later using this interest in an effort to fulfill the graduation requirement of a "Senior High Project". Today, for Kyle, this interest has transformed into much more then a simple project or hobby. A few of his other interests include politics and government which he is considering as a career path. During Kyle's junior year in high school he was appointed as the Junior Councilman to the Borough Council of his town. As part of part of an independent study he co-authored a research paper entitled "Social Banditry, Guerrilla's and Liberation Theology: Contending Paths of Interest Articulation in Central America", which was presented In March 2006 at the conference of the Middle Atlantic Council of Latin American Studies in Ponce, Puerto Rico. More recently, during the Fall semester of 2006, Kyle served as an intern at the White House in Washington, DC. Some activities he enjoys are playing tennis and golf. In high school he was a member of the debate team and tennis team, currently, he is active in the political scene at Muhlenberg College, member of the Investment Society, President of the German Club, and has a work study position in the Muhlenberg Fund Development office.

Project
Mission Statement |

Dear Reader, One quote alone describes the importance of a family and its history.
“A person without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and
culture is like a tree without roots.” – Marcus Garvey. No
matter if anything else is true in life, one thing will always be certain;
you will always have two biological parents, four grandparents, eight
great-grandparents, and so on and so forth. Regardless of whether you
knew these ancestors or not, they existed and lived just as we do today,
and without them our existence would not be possible. Researching ones
family history is the task of finding and getting to know these people
through different resources, such as those people that actually did know
them, and though less direct sources such as books and other documents.
The Saylor's only occupy a fraction of the vast multitude of ancestors
that we have, except without them we would not be here today. Throughout this project I have been in contact with many people, written many letters, encountered many obstacles, collected much information, gathered many pictures, and recorded many family stories and events. There is no such event more suited to celebrate the family and its history then a family reunion. That is why I led the effort to bring the Saylor family together, twice. I hope that through this project and the success of the Saylor family reunion, that the Saylor family will gain insight as to the history of our family, and with this knowledge, pass it on to future generations so that the past is not forgotten. This website is dedicated in the effort to record and unite this great family. Sincerely, Kyle L. Miller Updated: 1/07 |
