Many students get the impression that this class is going to be easy because Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 seem very easy. Many will have a passing grade after the 1st term. Understand that as soon as the first two chapters are completed the Algebra gets very difficult for anyone who chooses to neglect the home work, to be inattentive in class, or attend the class every day.

• Find approximate locations of rational and irrational numbers on a number line
• Simplify rational and irrational expressions using operations and properties
• Simplify, add, subtract, multiply, and divide expressions with square roots
• Simplify and evaluate polynomial expressions by distributing, combining like terms, etc. |
