Preventive Maintenance Checklist for PIV Forklifts and Power Jacks are completed. Towmotors should be completed by Wednesday/Thursday this week. Will notify and forward a copy to the union when complete. Should start using by Monday, November 7, 2005.
Brackets on parcel slides 4 slides are completed. Work is being done on tour 1. Jay Duffy will notify union by e-mail when completed. Incomplete are sack slides and PSM 3
A Frames installed during spills If mail is needed to be diverted due to a spill, maintenance will be called to installed the A-frames. Safety newsbreak will be put out by the end of the day. Copies will be given to haz-mat members, maintenance employees and supervisors.
Fire drill assessment Ron will supply the union a copy.
Procedures need to be written for contract drivers.
North Primary employees could not hear alarm.
No alarm in VC supervisors office.
ญญ- Contractor has been notified of problems.
- Discuss setting up a committee to look at some evacuation scenarios, other then fire.
MERT training Safety is coordinating the first aid training for new members. Will combine with the re-certification of all members. All mert phones are working except for two, which are being replaced.
Dock Door Tracking problems with some of the tracking at these doors. Jerry will have maintenance check doors.
The following two old agenda items will be updated by J. Capie to the union in person or by e-mail.
1) Painting & cleaning of keyboards.
2) Arrival of the cull chute for PSM 3.
Mailhandlers
Pushing/Pulling Videos to cut down on Sprains and Strains
Safety videos on pushing/pulling will be combined into one video.
Get a copy to committee members of the QWL video of our own employees on correct procedures.
Solicit OJIs or Safety Captains to demonstrate correct pushing/pulling procedures
Safety talks to be given next week.
Have Safety Captains review videos at their meeting Wednesday.
Mandatory safety talks Union did not receive copies of 8/10/05 security talk. Ron will check with Art Dustman to get information and pass on to Lou by next Monday.
Joe McGugan and Lou Morrone can look over future Safety talks before they are handed out.
JSA on zero Postal Paks - Ron will check into it. Jerry, Tom Kelly and John Leafey will look at modifying PPLs
JSA update on restraining containers. Ron will provide the union a copy.
Culling Stations CU1 E-8 - Station is staffed only when needed.
Area should not be used for staging equipment. Ron and Tom Kelly will review JSAs for culling.
Hazard & Accident Logs Ron created new logs since system was changed. Missing time frame of 6/6 thru 8/10 was sent electronically to both unions.
