Opening remarks from Florence Spady

The APWU has chosen to not participate in this Safety & Health meeting.  This is the second Safety and Health meeting in as many months that the APWU has chosen not to participate.  Additionally, the APWU still has not given a name for replacement of Mike Boyne as the VPP coordinator for the APWU.  Since the end of November, we have not had a VPP Coordinator from the APWU.

PIVMS

·        When a supervisor utilizes their master card for an employee, the checklist is bypassed.   Gloria Prioleau along with ID systems will be changing this so that anyone who logs on, even master users will have to do the OSHA check list.

·        Stickers are being made for the badges of PIT operators concerning procedures for logging off the PIT equipment..

·        Currently an auto report printed ½ hour before each tour to check equipment is not possible.  But a canned report showing equipment issues is available, and the supervisors can print them at any time.

·        Server was down over holiday weekend.  Gloria notified ID Systems. For hardware problems, HP is available with a 4-hr turn around time to help abate the problem.  Currently ID System and the Postal Service are working on a 24/7 service, but to date no agreement has been reached.

Safety Video

·        A person at HQ has been contacted to help in putting the portions of safety videos onto Postal Vision.  As soon as the disk is ready it will be put on postal vision.  A service talk will go out explaining what the videos are and when they will start.
