Debris Belt in S. Primary – A suggestion was made to move the belt to the staging area or to the debris area, and make the area where the belt is currently, a staging area.

Dock Lock Malfunctions

The buttons on the dock locking system needed to reset and now the dock locks are functioning properly.  The locks are supposed to flash Red and Green simultaneously, if there is a bad ICC bar on the trailer preventing proper engaging.

Chocks

New chocks have been put out, rusted chocks are being replaced. The transportation manger has been working to replace the chocks.

Safety Video

The safety videos are playing on Postal Vision.  They play every other day and they play 20 times a day on the days they play. They play this way for the next six months

Incident on 1/16/06

The incident was discussed in detail.  This was an isolated incident, and all current policies and procedures are in place. The inclusion of an added safeguard involving the dock clerks was rejected.

Sack Shake Out

There are concerns about this area by the employees and VPP.  Maintenance will look at these concerns and make the necessary corrections

West Wall Entrance

It was suggested to have blinking lights at the entrance to the west wall the near the maintenance shop.

APWU

ERRP Report

The ERRP report was presented. The committee wanted to know if all craft employees, not just the CORE committee, would receive training.  The ERRP facilitator said the employees will be trained when the CORE committee starts looking at the work areas to reduce or eliminate MSDs.  ERRP bulletin boards are in place. They are located in the main lobby between the pay phones.

Boat Hooks

Boat hooks have been ordered.  13 were given to tour 3 and 8 were given to tour 2.  Maintenance will be ordering another 25. This will become a stock item.

Birds

The current device works by using a pulsating sound, but it appears the birds have become immune to this device.  Echo Labs recommended fluids, netting, and gel substance be put on and around the I-beams.  Nests need to be found. Maintenance will keep us posted on their progress.

Pallet Lifter

A pallet lifter has been ordered for the Bull pen by ERRP and signed by the plant manager.  A JSA has been developed for the operation and will go out as a safety talk.  When the pallet lifter comes in another JSA will be developed for that equipment.

Next meeting tentatively scheduled for Wednesday March 29th, 2006 at 10:30AM on Tour 2.
