Craig's 'Bello Burgers

I've been making these portobello mushroom "burgers" at home for years. We tried making them on a recent camping trip and they worked out great. They're now a regular item in our camping recipe repertoire. Keep plenty on napkins handy. They're messy but they taste great. -- Craig

Ingredients:

Procedure:

Heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the onion and bell pepper and season to taste with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Saute until tender.

Remove the entire stem from each of the mushrooms. Brush both sides with Worchestershire sauce and season with seasoned salt. Allow to set for a few minutes. Grill over mediun heat until tender.

Arrange the mushrooms stem-side-up on the grill. Fill each with some of the onion and pepper mixture. Top each with a slice of cheese. Cover the grill and heat until cheese is melted.

Place each "burger" on a toasted hamburger bun and top with creamy parmesan salad dressing.
