Codorus State Park
|
Our first trip to Codorus State Park was plagued by lousy weather and extremely low water levels on Lake Marburg. (Read about our last visit)
So, we decided to give it another try. This time, the weather
cooperated and the water level was back to normal in Lake Marburg.
Favorite Sites
Here are some that looked good to us:

This time out, we had a site in the "B" loop (Site #58) with a 30-amp electric hookup. As are most of the sites in this loop, it was large and wooded. We had plenty of room but the fire ring was a bit too close to the road for our liking. Otherwise, it was a pretty nice site.
The weather was much better for us this time. We had a better opportunity to explore the area and do a little bit of fishing. Lake Marburg is absolutely beautiful. We only caught a few small ones but the scenery alone was well worth the trip. Next time I think we'll rent a boat and explore the lake more.
Here are a couple of tips from this trip: For some great ice cream, there's a great little stand in Hanover on York Street (Rt. 116), just west of Route 216. You can get ice and basic groceries at the little quickie-mart next door, too. At one of the residences just outside the campground entrance, we bought firewood for $2.50 a bundle. Not a bad deal.
Once again, we were impressed with Codorus. This could very well turn into an annual camping trip for us.
