Elk Neck State Park |
We made our first trip to Elk Neck State Park back in September of 2003. The bad weather that weekend prevent us from seeing some of the sights. So, we headed back there this year. This time we had great weather.
On this trip, we stayed in a site without hookups. Our site, #120 in the Choptank Loop, was very spacious and heavily wooded. On one morning, 3 deer made their way through our campsite. The cleanliness of the bathhouse on this trip, however, left a bit to be desired.
We made the hike out to Turkey Point to see the Lighthouse and it was worth the trip. Turkey Point Lighthouse sits on a cliff overlooking Chesapeake Bay. Members of the group that is restoring the lighthouse were on hand to provide a history of the site.
