One Page Deaton Family History for Kids (written for my eleven-year old Granddaughter Allison Claire Deaton)

(Right) The Wake Forest College Freshman Football team in 1930 included Boyce Odell Deaton, who was almost certainly the son of William Thomas Deaton (1884-1965) and Abbie Rush Deaton (1884-1961) of the  Town of Candor in Montgomery County, North Carolina. Odell did not return to school for the 1931 Fall Term. He was deceased in 2003 according to the Wake Forest Alumni Register. The picture is in my copy of the 1931  Wake Forest HowlerYearbook. The 1930 Wake Forest frosh squad beat Duke University's first year players, 25-0, but lost twice to Henderson High School by 24-0 and 38-0 scores.  Odell is my third cousin, once removed.
