Beauty and the Beast, the classic love story between socialite Catherine chandler and Vincent, protector of the Tunnels


 

Both very secure in the world they live in and yet both sharing in the other's world as fully as possible.  They know a love that knows no bounds.  A love so deep, they are truly each others soul mate.

Catherine, injured in an attack that was a case of mistaken identity was left for dead in Central Park.  Vincent found her and took her to his chamber below to treat her injuries.  Despite Father's objections that she would become a danger to Vincent himself, he couldn't help but fall in love with her.  Her spirit was so strong, and yet her body was so slight, so fragile that it seemed she would break like a piece of fine china.

Catherine, unable to see her savior at first due to the bandages covering her eyes, found his voice, very calming.  As he read to her from 'Great Expectations', that silky steel voice conveyed such inner strength and wisdom.  His powerfully built body belied a gentle soul inside.

The rest is their story.  For 2 seasons on CBS, fans watched their love grow.  Then sadly, the powers that be decided it was time for a change and Linda Hamilton who'd brought such beauty and grace to the character of Catherine Chandler was let go from the series.  The last season of the show brought a new character to Vincent's life.   Diana, a NYPD detective, found herself drawn into Vincent's world.  Not all fans took to Diana with open arms.  To this day, there is a great divide between fans who love Catherine and feel she should be the only woman in Vincent's life and those that like Diana and feel she should be given a chance too.

I, myself, am a strictly 'Classic" beauty and the beast fan.  In my reality, Catherine and Vincent have found a way to be with each other.  To merge their separate worlds into a new place the both of them share.

Below you will find links to some of the stories I've written based on this wonderful show.  To say that Beauty and the Beast has influenced my life in many ways is a gross understatement.  Not only has it affected me personally in how I view the world, but it's also allowed me to explore the creative sides to my personality.  Something I may not have done without the inspiration it offers.
