The wind whispering secrets as it rushes through the trees.
A gentle touch upon my shoulder, yet no one is near.
The soft ripple that passes over the pond, though the air is warm and still.

Are these the Mysteries that you seek?

A newborn instinctively suckles her mother’s breast,
and coos at the sound of her voice.
To feel the full moons presence before it rises in the night sky.
Flowers that burst into bloom through the last snow of winter.

Are these the Mysteries that you seek?

The Hawk perched in the Oak tree, whose eyes I see with
as we soar through my dreams.
Passion so fiery that I ache in ecstasy, down to the depths of my soul.
The flame that dances and beckons, drawing me into its light,
bringing the gift of knowledge and second sight.

Are these the Mysteries that you seek?

A tiny fawn struggles to stand on wobbly legs,
just hours after entering the world.
Wisdom that imparts grace in the elderly, who are forever young.
The life force that glows around every living thing.

Are these the Mysteries that you seek?

The embrace of your true love that comforts and sustains you
throughout the changing seasons of life.
The enchanting music of the ocean that calls to you
as you stand on the shore under a star filled sky.
The ability to know without knowing.

Are these the Mysteries that you seek?

The stillness and calm that follows the wrath of a hurricane.
The fresh smell of the soil after a gentle spring rain.
Memories that come to me in dreams of a time long past.

These are the Mysteries that I have known.
The simple, yet undeniable, treasures of life.

Praise be to the Goddess
for sharing Her precious gifts with the children of the earth;
“The Mysteries”
