Basic Pistol

This course presents in detail information pertaining to ammunition, cleaning
and storage of handguns,and the techniques of marksmanship.
It is a prerequisite for the NRA course
“ Personal Protection in the Home”.

Objectives
Discuss and learn the rules of safe gun handling
Discuss in detail the operation of single and double action
Work extensively with the fundamentals of marksmanship
Discuss ammunition and components in detail
Complete cleaning practical

Personal Protection in the Home

The Personal Protection in the Home course  is for law-abiding adult citizens.
The applicant must have completed the NRA Basic Pistol Course
or the NRA First Steps Course. The Personal Protection Course participants
must be experienced shooters who can demonstrate safe gun handling ,
marksmanship  and gun cleaning skills.

NRA First Steps Pistol

First Steps
Firearm Instruction , Responsibility and Safety
Training--is the National Rifle Association’s response to the needs
of new gun purchasers.  The NRA’s First Steps Program provides
hands-on instruction for the safe handling and proper operation
of one specific firearm model.  This is a three hour course and is taught individually by a certified NRA instructor.
