Why Bother?

Stars--A very nice website on Stellar Astronomy

A very nicely done site that offers details about the stars, particularly information on mass, size, an explanation of cataloging and classification, and so forth.

ExtraSolar Planets

A fascinating, and quite probably accurate speculation by John Whatmough. Quite current, includes photorealistic renderings of what these extrasolar worlds might look like.

Exoplanets Mappings with auto update-Nice!

A nice mapping with introduction of where the stars with exoplanets are in the night sky. Mousing over any of the names produces a larger, detailed mapping of the associated extrasolar system.

Astronomy Picture of the Day Archive

Some really interesting things up there... Look for the photo of the variable star Mira. It's not even round!

Les Exoplanetes, les etoiles proches, les etoils de Star Trek.

This one's "en francais". But it's really quite fascinating, containing much info about the explanets, the nearest stars and the stars as depicted in Star Trek. Pensez en francais et lisez en francais. Vive France!

About Neutron Stars
About Black Holes

A website by Cole Miller of the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Chicago. Some very interesting and useful information about Neutron Stars and Black Holes.
