John BlewettSpouse/partner name:Elizabeth Henderson Blewett Children and their ages: Benjamin Tyler 7, Christopher Miles 5, Patrick Joseph II 15 months (yikes) Those who know me won't be surprised to learn that I have been slow to progress! I didn't even marry until I was 38 years old and my first child wasn't born until I was 40. People ask me if I am having a mid-life crisis to which I say, heck, I just finished going through puberty; what's the rush? I left the safe harbor of LA a year after graduation and moved to Albuquerque. After a few wayward years working construction jobs I became a respiratory therapist in 1982. I worked most of my clinical career at UNM Hospital (1983-2004 except 86-87-a strange year spent in Boston). I began teaching respiratory therapy in the late 80's part-time and I became full-time faculty at CNM Community College (formerly Albuquerque. TVI) in 1993. I became the director of the respiratory therapy program in 2005 and now split my time between teaching and administrating the program. I have a BS degree from UNM (magna cum laude) and am currently pursuing a MA degree from UNM in Educational Leadership. I met my darling wife Elizabeth while she was a pediatric resident at UNMH. We will celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary on June 7 of this year. Other than that year in Boston in the mid-eighties, I have stayed in New Mexico and can't imagine living anywhere else. |
