After attending the University of Nebraska, I married a Nebraska farm
girl and we moved to Kansas City where I went to paramedic school. We
lived and worked there until the birth of our first child in 1986. We
were looking for a change and the farming economy wasn't great in the
80s. My wife also knew how hard farming or anything else tied to the
ag industry would be, so we considered Los Alamos again. Never thought
I would come back to LA, but the family apartment and storage business
was growing and mom and dad were wanting to retire. So we moved back
to manage the family business, had two more kids, and raised them in
a pretty good place for families. There's still not much to do. I spend
most my time fixing, repairing, and handling logistics for our business
as well as trying to manage people who must be independently wealthy
as they don't want to work as hard as McInroy, Gotti, or Locke did when
we were cleaning and painting.
I still collect toys, I'm a volunteer for the American Red Cross, stay
active in church and kids activities, and now that my youngest daughter
is a sophomore, we may consider moving elsewhere at some point in the
near future.
