I graduated with a B.S. in wildlife science from NMSU in 1981, worked temporary with the Bureau of Land Management for a couple of years, then went back to school and got a M.S. in Range Science (cows eating grass) in 1986.
I've worked for the BLM as a range technician, wildlife biologist, range conservationist, outdoor recreation planner, natural resource specialist, and now again as a wildlife biologist. I've been one of the New Mexico BLM's leaders in wilderness, recreation, and vehicle management, and have worked on national policy teams in wilderness and vehicle management. I'm currently working on endangered bat habitat investigations in the bootheel area, and building water catchments for wildlife in the Otero Mesa area.
I'm still into weight training and aerobic exercise like I've been since high school, and enjoy hunting, fishing, and gardening. I've recently taken up golf, but I'm not very good yet. I'm also an excellent cook, and enjoy spending time with good friends, good food, and good beer.
It'd be nice to see some of my old high school buddies, but the ones I most wanted to see didn't make it to the 20th, and I won't make it to the 30th. I hope you all are doing well and having fun.
