Well, let's see. I decided I wasn't a good enough actor or musician to keep food on the table, so I went to UNM and got a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Sometime in there I started running and got into decent shape. Decided to go to grad school. Sold my drums for tuition (a good, if somewhat painful, career move). After a year of grad school, I decided I didn't like the specialty I was studying and wanted to see more of the world. So I took a job in Maryland at the Applied Physics Lab. Took several years of night classes and finished a Masters in EE at Johns Hopkins.
At APL I got to work on all sorts of radios and communications systems and ride on ships, submarines, and military aircraft. I got to travel to places like England, Hawaii, Alaska and beautiful downtown DC (it really is nice in the spring). I even taught a graduate class for several years in mobile communications.
I joined a church and got to meet lots of good people that weren't engineers. I started playing pick-up games of ultimate frisbee 3 times a week. I was in good shape then.
In 1989 I managed to convince a wonderful girl to marry me. We now have two wonderful teenage boys, one of whom is taller than me (okay that's not too hard). About 10 years ago we decided to move closer to the mountains, family and hopefully good schools. We chose Colorado Springs and we have been there since. I'm working for a small company called RT Logic.
So life now is mainly about raising kids and enjoying Colorado (and enough work thrown in to pay the bills). Life is good.
