After 30 years, I am caught somewhere between pre-existing conditions and senior discounts. I am currently a CPA working for a pharmaceutical distributor in Dallas, where I live in the same neighborhood as John Courtright's sister Lynn (I am not making this up). I have been married 25 years and we have three great kids and a twelve-year old Airedale Terrier. I worked as an engineer for 14 years in Albuquerque after finishing my masters in electrical engineering at UNM. The cold war ended and DOE did not have much interest in risk assessments of their nuclear facilities anymore so I decided a career change was in order, so I went back to school part-time and sat for the CPA exam. We moved to the Dallas area in 1998 and I worked in public accounting as a tax accountant for 4 years before I decided to give up the long hours and got a job working in industry.
Our oldest daughter Katy is an art major at New York University and will be showing her paintings locally this summer. Emily and James will finish high school in two years. Emily spends all her free time dancing--ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, tap; and James is an avid tennis player and basketball fan (GO MAVS!). Although work and kid's activities take up nearly all of our time, Charlie and I try to fit in some music. We try to get to Albuquerque at least once a year. My dad still lives there. He will be 89 next month and still takes computer classes and music lessons. Amazing.
I will miss seeing everyone at the reunion. My daughter Emily will be in a ballet performance that weekend. Have a great time!
