Roadside Cleanup this coming weekend, Oct 10-12

In preparation for the Walkathon, let's pick up the trash and litter that has accumulated along our roads.  Select a stretch of road(s) that you would like to pick up and reply to this email, letting us know. If anyone has already claimed that stretch we can direct you elsewhere for a more efficient and complete cleanup.

Please dispose of the accumulation with your own household trash. If larger items are found, notify us and we'll see about getting assistance from the highway departments.

Be especially careful on the busy roads with apple picker traffic and wear bright clothing! We suggest children work on quiet roads or Pine Bluffs/Beach. Many thanks for your participation.

LBA Walkathon, Oct 17 at high noon

Register at 11:45 at Pine Bluffs/Town Beach. Get to know your neighbors with a stroll for all or part of the 5 mile route around the lake, including signs pointing out historic and environmental areas of interest. Tee shirts, hats and Lake Boon history books will be available for sale.

If children want to ride bikes, they need to come with someone specifically to accompany and supervise them. There will be a lot of apple picking traffic on the short stretches of Sudbury Road we have to use.

bulletLBA Discount Septic Pumping

Once again, the Lake Boon Association is sponsoring a discount septic pumping program this fall. The program will run beginning the last two weeks in October and deadline for sign up is October 18th.

Casaceli Trucking will be doing the pumping again and the price will be $225 for a 1500 gallon tank and $150 for a 1000 gal or less. To register please email Brenda Mascari at brenda@edmascari.com (DO NOT a reply to this email) or call Dave Siewierski at 978-562-2203.

The program is open to anyone living within the Lake Boon watershed or within a mile of the lake.

Since the inception of this program many tanks have been pumped at the discount price, saving money for individual homeowners while preserving property values and helping reduce weed growth in the lake. The more frequently a system is pumped (recommendation every 1 - 2 years depending on family size), the longer it will last and work well. The LBA sponsors this program spring and fall each year, and so far Rich Casaceli continues to give us a lower price than other area companies for an excellent job!

Please spread the word to your neighbors on Lake Boon so we can continue to do everything we can to clean up the lake and keep our septic systems running well.
