What is the difference between the LBA and the LBC?

The Lake Boon Association (LBA) is a private social organization created by summer  residents of Lake Boon in the early 1900's, then became incorporated in 1921.

The Lake Boon Commission (LBC), on the other hand, was created in 1941 by special State legislation and is a public agency subject to Federal, State and local laws governing public administrations.

Dock Registration

The State Legislature amended Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 91 to require that all docks be registered/licensed with a one-time license fee and a renewal fee every ten years. As many docks on the Lake were granted amnesty from the license fee, (up until the resale of the property) the new property owner should check on the status of their dock registration with the Department of Environmental Protection – (617) 292-5500.
