bulletThe Friends of the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge is a non-profit organization established to work with the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service to protect the refuge's valuable resources for future generations of wildlife and humans through stewardship and education.

The "Friends" began meeting in December of 1999 in anticipation of the transfer of the property to the Fish and Wildlife Service, which took place on September 28, 2000. Our short-term goal is to work with Fish and Wildlife to help open the refuge to the public.
