Introduction

Welcome to my RECORDS 4 SALE pages. That's right, this is where I'll be listing many of my records, LP's, vinyl, 33's, albums, or whatever name you prefer. I expect that I will probably sell off approximately half of my over 700 records and will be listing them here over a period of the next year or more. I will also be listing some 45's, 78's, and specialty records. Please keep coming back to check out the new listings.

I take great pride in my collection and have taken excellent care of them over the years. Unless otherwise stated in the description, all records have been stored in a vertical (upright) position, have only been handled by the edges, have only been played on a high quality linear tracking turntable, have only been cleaned with a micro carbon-fiber brush or specially formulated cleaner, and have only been played a few times, primarily for recording to tape in order to preserve the record.

Some of my records are still in their original factory seal and have never been opened, while others are pure virgin vinyl pressings. Many of my records have been stored in a plastic outer sleeve (cover).

Shipping

All records will be shipped in very high quality boxes from Bags Unlimited that are specifically designed for the shipment of records. Unless indicated, all records will be shipped with a plastic outer sleeve (cover). Up to 6 records can be combined into one box. Specialty records may require special packaging which will be noted as required. Many of the outer sleeves were in general use in record stores and may have writing/labels on them not related to my records, but still provide adequate protection from dust and fingerprints. My best records will come in new or like new outer sleeves.

Records will be shipped FedEx Ground (~2-3 days delivery), Media Mail (~1-3 wks delivery), or Priority Mail (~2-4 days delivery). I will ship within the USA and to Canada. I may ship to other locations, but only upon special request. I may consider other next-day shipping services upon request, but expect the cost to be higher.

The approximate range of shipping costs for a single record shipped within the 48 contiguous states are shown below. Prices shown include the cost of packaging materials. I only charge my actual cost for the shipping and packaging. I don't charge for my 'time' to package and ship except possibly for special requests.

Listings

Due to space limitations I have only posted thumbnails and a medium size set of low resolution pictures for many albums. Original large high resolution pictures are available upon request. Be forewarned, each original picture is between 500k and 1.5MB in size so as to show the records/covers in great detail. I have pictures of the front cover, back cover, one side of the sleeve (if applicable), and one side of the actual record available for each. If the back side is not in the same condition as the front, I will have additional pictures as appropriate. Pictures of the actual records themselves will often have strong reflections due to the lighting and great condition of them.

I have graded the records according to the grading system developed by Goldmine Records and used by The Record Collector's Guild. As nearly all my records are Near Mint and Very Good Plus based on this grading, I have additionally tried to note as many details of anything that may affect the value of the record. I will typically use a grade lower than may be necessary for what may be considered minor reasons. I don't anticipate grading any record as Mint. For those records that I may have played recently, I will include an audio grading as well. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have regarding any of my records.

I expect the format and organization of the listings to change/evolve as I list more records. Any records that are listed on Ebay will be identified with an Ebay logo next to the album thumbnail picture. Click on the logo to go directly to the Ebay listing. Albums with no pictures included will typically be sold for less. Pictures will be made available upon request though.

As you will no doubt note, I have not listed any prices for most records at this time. If you are interested in one or more records, please make me an offer. Prices noted on some records may be negotiable.

It is taking me longer to generate the listings than anticipated as I am listening to many of the records, taking the time to grade them appropriately, etc. As such, I have created an index so that you can view a list of all records that I may be selling. This index primarily only includes the artist and title information, but also includes links for those records that I have already generated full listings for.

Examples

Following are examples of two records in my collection. One is typical of most records and the other is one that has seen more playtime and use than most. Click on the first two thumbnails to see the typical set of medium-sized pictures (front, back, inner sleeve, record) that will be included with most listings. Click on the third thumbnail for an example of one of the large high resolution original pictures that are available (I had to reduce the JPEG quality due to space limitations though). Clicking on the fourth thumbnail for an example picture of a record with the outer plastic sleeve. You may need to change a configuration parameter in your browser if it automatically resizes the full-size original picture to fit your screen (click here for instructions). Use your browser's Back button to return to the listings after viewing one of the pictures.
