Digital Paintings Two

To my surprise, the previous experiments had lead me in a more abstract direction than I had gone in before.  My mood was to put little effort into the selection of a model and less into the depiction of  minutiae.  I wanted to get on with it, I guess.  So, I simply "made up" the model, or took something from  one of my photos.

Is this different or what?  But curiously, it felt right to make it after the previous two.
Here I was looking for the real in the abstraction.  Having made the basic color and shape
abstraction in a simple paint program, I worked on the depth and particularly on the texture.

Web_Liquid_B_07
Here the imaginary shapes are complexly formed
and the colors are subservient to the whole effect.

 Web_Liquid_C_A
Here the "liquid" series has become ceramic.  I knew I would do more paintings using this approach.

 Web_Ceramic_05
This digital painting felt, on completion, to be right on the path I
wanted to be.  And it also felt like a new door to all kinds of possibilities.

 Web02_Hippo_05
Working with the ceramic effect in an imaginary scene, I tried for a free-form mosaic.

Web02_Frtillary_05
In the mood for depiction, I found a a fritillary photo on the Web, carefully made a
drawing, scanned it, modified it a lot, created as much depth as I could and have it still work.
Web02_Spur_A_06
Wanting experience in directly modifying a
photo, I used one of mine taken of a Blue Heeler.
Web02_ColoredShapes_B_02
Another experiment in shape, color, and depth -- again "real" abstraction.
Web02_TulipMosaic_06
Based on my photo of a tulip, this is an investigation
in creating a mosaic of apparently rounded and
polished stones.
Web02_AngleAbstract_A
Possibly evidence of a psychic breakdown according to my mate, but really, I
was quite calm.  My main interest was in creating two distinct levels within the work.
