2011 Pennsylvania AOH / LAOH State Convention
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The 96th Biennial AOH/LAOH PA State Convention will be held in the Valley Forge-King of Prussia area of Pennsylvania at the Dolce Hotel. The Hotel is located at 301 West DeKalb Pike, King of Prussia, PA 19406. Room rates will be $104 per night ( plus tax ) and there is ample free parking available.
This years Convention will be slightly different from past Conventions, the AOH/LAOH State Boards are hosting the Convention. Many volunteers will be needed for various committees. If you are interested in helping out please see the enclosed committee sheet fill in your name with a contact number and kindly return it. There will also be an ad book for the Convention. Hopefully all Divisions and Counties will participate.
The Convention will begin on Thursday July 14th and commence with the closing Banquet on Saturday July,16th.
- Thursday Night’s Ice Breaker will feature a “Night at the Races” event with beer, wine & soda (cash bar will be available). A Buffet will be offered with salad, cheese steaks and pulled pork. There will also be music. The races will be displayed on 10 X10 screens. Race forms will be mailed to all AOH/LAOH Divisions and County Boards.
- Friday night will be an open night with bus service available to Montgomery County AOH Division #1 . They will supply entertainment and be very cordial hosts. The Hotel Bar, T. Burke’s Lounge, will also have live music and offer beer and drink specials.
- Saturday night will be the closing Banquet, featuring Cocktail Hour with hors d’oeuvres, open bar and a sit down Dinner. And also Live music by Sean Fleming for your listening and dancing pleasure. Prior to the Banquet Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s in Norristown. St. Patrick’s Church was built by Irish Immigrants. Bus service will be available. The cost of the Convention Package will be $120.00.
Convention meetings and business sessions will held on Thursday at 1:00 pm, with Friday and Saturday starting at 10:00 am for the LAOH. And on Friday and Saturday starting at 10:00 am for the AOH. There will be Mass in the Hotel on Friday morning. Nominations will be held on Friday and Elections will be Saturday. The Degrees of the Order will be offered for AOH/LAOH members once again, they will be held on Saturday. After the closing of the meetings on Friday buses will be on hand to take any members interested to the Medal of Honor Grove in Valley Forge. The Grove is one of a kind and the AOH/LAOH have an obelisk there to commemorate those who sacrificed for our Country.
As always there will be a Hospitality Room. Hours will be Thursday: 12pm to 5PM / 10pm to 2am Friday: 6pm to 2am – Saturday: 3pm to 6pm / 10 pm to 2am
