Golden Gate Hotel (last visit: October 2010).
This is a Los Angeles chain, with one outlet in Las Vegas. It's basically a diner, with no atmosphere to speak of. Du-par's claim to fame: its pancakes.
What else - pancakes. A special offered a short stack with bacon for $6.75. A short stack is three huge pancakes, with melted butter poured on top prior to serving. They were very good: light, slightly crisp around the edges, with good flavor; the butter certainly didn't hurt.
Does Du-par's have the best pancakes in town? Perhaps. I don't think they so much better than others (for example, Bellagio's 24 cafe) as to merit a special trip, but if you're in the area it's worth a stop.
