First you'll need a Path Object with a new gradient.
Here's one you can use to follow along:

- Click on the image to download the ufo.
- Open the ufo in PhotoImpact. You'll see that it's a Path object.
- Using the Path Drawing tool, Left click on the object to select it.

- Left click on the Color box in the Attribute bar:

 |
- Choose Gradient fill from the drop down menu.
- Left click in the box for Multiple colors.
- When the Palette Ramp Editor opens, click Add > OK > OK.

Your new gradient will be ready to use whenever you choose the Gradient fill option.
Try it! |
- Open a new image, any size, any color.
- Go to Edit > Fill and choose the Gradient tab.
- Left click in the Multiple Color box, scroll down to find your new gradient!
- You can change the direction of the gradient by choosing a different directional arrow from Fill Type.

- Open a new image, any size, any color.
- Go to Edit > Fill and choose the Gradient tab.
- This time, left click in the Magic Gradient color box.
- Click on the Edit... button
- Once again, scroll down to find your new gradient!.

- On your Tool Panel, activate any of the Gradient Fill Tools:

- Select Multiple-colors for the Fill method, then left click on the Fill colors box.
- Once again, scroll down to find your new gradient!.
