"Jacob BEAN was buying land in Washington Co., TN in 1796. Deed Book 7, pg 282: "Jacob BEAN of Augusta Co., VA" and in 1804 he sold this land and moved to Knox Co., TN as he was on early Tax rolls of Knox Co. in 1807 and 1812.
In the 1880 Knox Co., TN census, Andrew BEAN says his father was born in PA and his mother was born in IRELAND."

Will of Jacob BEAN
I, Jacob Bean, do make and publish this as my last will and testanment hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me at any other time made. First, I direct that my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any money that I may die possessed of or may first come into the hands of my Executors. Secondly, I desire that after my death all my real estate and personal property after my wife Sarah shall have had her dower, shall be sold and equally divided among my children and William Riley Bean to have ten dollars out of the proceeds of the sale. I do further desire that my Executors shall have the power of renting my lands during my natural life with as full power as this would have when appointed as Guardians appointed by the court. I do hereby appoint and authorize my Executors to sell all my real estate, and make title which titles shall be good and valid to all intents and purposes. Signed, sealed, published in our prescence, and we have subscribed our names hereto in the presence of the testator the 4th day of July 1856.
