I have included some information on Blackwell's from Franklin County,
GA to Hickman and Perry Counties of TN. Maybe it will be helpful to someone
who looks here for information on early GA Blackwell families... Also see

The following information was provided by fellow researcher Peter Preston of Mathews, VA. His wife Sally is the GGGG granddaughter of John Blackwell and Clement Wilkins.
"The John Blackwell family, along with those of his brothers William, Ambrose, and Jesse, arrived in Franklin Co. from Abbeville Co. SC in the latter part of 1797. John Blackwell purchased 200 ac. on Little's Creek, adjacent to Clement Wilkins, on 3 Oct. 1797 (an 1802 deed of another family indicates 'adjacent to John Blackwell, Clement Wilkins, (and others)' which established the proximity of the Wilkins and Blackwell properties."
"John Blackwell's two oldest sons, Joseph (b. 1785, S.C.) and Jesse (b. 1786, S.C.) married two Wilkin's daughters, Mary and Sarah, who may have been twins born in 1791, according to Wilkins family records ("Amazing Grace", J T Witherspoon, 1980), or Sarah may have been born in 1792, and Mary in 1790 according to later census records. THe marriage of Jesse and Sarah was recorded 26 April 1810. A court record of the marriage and Mary (called Polly) has not yet been found."
"On 3 Dec. 1805 Clement Wilkins sold 100 ac. to Samuel Daily for $150, and made final disposition of his property by selling 500 ac. on Oct. 5, 1810 to John Mayfield Sr. for $1200, immediately thereafter moving to Hickman Co., TN. He was accompanied by his children and their families, including John Wimms (Weems), who was married to Clement's daughter Nancy, and possibly Abner Brown (ref Brown's Bend on the Duck River) whose daughters Nancy and Levana married Clement's sons Thomas and Clement Jr."
"Joseph Blackwell, married to Mary Wilkins, named a son (b. TN 1826) Clement Cude Blackwell in honor of his materal grandfather and apparently John Cude. Jesse Blackwell, married to Sarah Wilkins, named a son (b. GA 1812) Wilkins, in honor of his maternal grandfather. These names persisted in the Blackwell lines for several generations."
My Blackwell ancestors begin with Jesse Blackwell, born abt. 1786, in S.C.
, who was the son of Joseph and Sarah Wells Blackwell of Virginia. Jesse Blackwell
married Sarah Wilkins in Franklin Co., GA in 1810. I have conflicting
information (at this time) on who Sarah Wilkins parents were: one source
lists John Wilkins and Mary Anthony Wilkins of Dutch descent as her parents,
and another source lists her parents as Clement Wilkins and Clarissa Dicker
(who also settled Hickman Co., TN during the same period).
Jesse and Sarah Wilkins Blackwell settled in Hickman Co., Tenn. around
1816 . (It is said that there were three other Blackwell families that
made this trip from GA to Hickman Co., TN at this time). Jesse was said
to have settled in Blackwell's Hollow (or Blackwelltown) on the southside of
the river in 1818, just as soon as it was abandoned by the Indians. According
to "The History of Hickman Co., Tn.", (page 258) "he was a man of ability in business
matters. He wrote title papers in land trades for his neighbors, was their
legal advisor, and was considered by early settlers as an authority on
questions of law. He erected a gristmill on the lower end of his fine body
of land. It was located north of his residence, one mile."
Jesse and Sarah Wilkins Blackwell had the following children:
1. Polly Blackwell;
2. Joseph Blackwell (born Jan. 16, 1811);
3. Wilkins B. Blacwell (born Oct. 30, 1812, Ga.), married abt. 1835 to Nancy
(maiden name unknwon).
4. Elizabeth Blackwell (born Sept. 22, 1814);
5. David Jackson Blackwell (b. Jan. 8, 1816 in Hickman Co., TN; d. Apr. 15, 1891
in Perry Co., TN), married Mary Rice on Jan. 20, 1842 in Perry Co., TN
(she was the daughter of William and Sarah Dailey Rice). David Jackson,
or "Davy Jack" as he was sometimes known, was preacher and representative of
the Christian Church of Hickman County (according to "History of Hickman Co.
, TN" page 258),
6. Robert Blackwell (born Aug. 28, 1818);
7. Seaborn Blackwell (born Jan. 4, 1820, Tenn.);
8. William Blackwell (born Jan. 27, 1823 in Tenn.), married Nancy (Unknown);
9. John H. Blackwell (b. Jan. 8, 1826, in Tenn.).

Have attempted to connect my Thomas Jefferson BLACKWELL (1838-1872?) with this line, but have not done so yet. Searching, Mary.
John C. Roberts, b 1795 in what was to become Roane co, TN, married
2/1/1816) ELIZABETH BLACKWELL.
She was the dau of DAVID BLACKWELL, a slave owner and prosperous
farmer. She was mentioned in her father's will dated 1842.
From Chris Bailey, a descendant:
David Blackwell m Sarah Harris. Elizabeth was born 10 sep 1796 in Surry
Co., NC. Her father, David Blackwell, was a pensioner for service in
the VA line during the Revolutionary War.
John C. Roberts and Elizabeth Blackwell had 16 children born in Roane Co, TN. (note two copies of the bible record state the twins were born five days apart.
