  • 10 November 2002 - Sheila McLin Endres (endres@texas.net) is a descendant of Alexander (Sr.) McLin and Ann Laird Blair through their son Richard who married Rachel O. Blackmore. (Shown above).
Sheila has published a book called "McLIN MEMORIES - Biographical and Genealogical Data About Alexander and Ann (Blair) McLIN". If you're interested in purchasing this book, please e-mail to Sheila at endres@texas.net for further details.

NOTE: The McLin book (by Sheila McLin Endres) is blue cloth hard cover with silver stamping. The binding, paper, and everything are archival quality and intended to last! Sheila has made 250 copies, and the cost is $50 (which includes normal mailing rates). This covers her reproduction cost; Sheila is not selling the book for profit.

  • 16 Nov 1997 - Ron Wilson has been looking for the following connection of his Wilson family and this McLin line:
My ggrandfather was Addison B. Wilson m. Matilda McLin 2/21/1848 in Washington Co, TN. The marriage record says Malinda McLin but it is Matilda. In the 1850 census Addison and Matilda are listed with a child Jerusa, and a John B. McLin student in the household. In the 1860 census of Washington Co, TN lists A.B Wilson, R.M. (wife), and children M.B., A.Allace,Mary J. Agnus V. and Nancy J.
Addison Wilson was a Presbyterian Minister and is buried in St Clair county Al. The tombstone said Rev A. B. Wilson b. June 27, 1824 d. Oct. 17 1898. On the left side it reads Georgia (this is Georgia Ann Vernon his second wife)b. May 25,1840 d. Feb. 11 1893. On the right side his marker reads Virginia A. daughter of A. B. & R. M. Wilson b. Sept. 18, 1856 d. Apr. 14, 1888. There is a marker on the right that reads Virginia A. daughter of A. B. & R. M. Wilson b. in Washington Co. TN Sept.18, 1856 d. in St. Claire Co. AL Apr. 14, 1888.
I have other info on the other children of Addison & Matilda. My question is this. Can you supply me info on this family of McLin's? Any help about the connection between Alexander McLin and the Wilson's would greatly help.

  • 31 Oct 1997 - Bob Bailey (baileyrw@hom.net) Alexander McLin and Ann Blair had 11 children. I am descended from Mary McLin md to James Johnson Wilson. I have a fair amount of information on the family and a good contact in FL. I also have info on the Blair Family (Ann's Parents).

  • 1 Nov 1997 - Susie Lamb (shaylamb@unr.net) has a connection with our common ancestor, Alexander McLin and Ann Blair, through Robert Lynn McLin and Ann Blair II

  • 13 Aug 1998 - Patricia Sabin (psabin@bellsouth.net) is researching the Martha Laird McLin (1781 - ) line. She says conflicting information exists from information published by the Watauga Historical Society and The History of Washington County among other sources. The Blairs and the McLins have very different versions, even as to the generation of the Martha who married J.E.Cunningham. She is working on the McLin-Cunningham lines of Washington Co TN.
