Peter Martin Scott was a farmer born around 1790 in Bedford County, TN. Married Jane (Jenny) Williams (from South Carolina) and found to be living in Marion County, AL, when it came time for the 1850 census, with 9 children. Their children were... John - 27; Stephen - 23; Martin - 19; Cynthia - 18; Elizabeth - 16; Nancy - 13; Joseph - 10; Sarah - 7; James - 6 mo.
Peter died around 1870 in Marion County, AL and is buried in Single Springs Cemetery, near the Franklin & Marion County lines.

Sarah SCOTT born 1766, died 12 Jul 1841 in Claiborne Co, TN, married James Spradling in NC. They lived in Wilkes Co, NC, before moving to first, Grainger then Claiborne Co, TN. One child is known: Mary, who married a Mullins, died 28 Oct 1855. We believe Mary had an illegitimate child, James Spradling Jr born 5 Mar 1803 in NC. James Spradling Jr married Mary Carpenter, born 1 Mar 1806, and daughter of Yelberton Carpenter. Their children were: William Henderson, Wesley Anderson, born 25 Aug 1832 and a Confederate soldier, John Riley, Mary A, Mary Jane, Theopilis, Elizabeth, and Franklin. Wesley Married Mary Elizabeth Tucker. Their children were: Leander, James, Charlie, Laura, Nancy, and George. All except Leander and George died young of Tuberculosis. Leander Cleveland (Lee) born 18 mar 1888, died 5 Apr 1952, married Martha Jane Stubblefield. They had two children: Glenn and Imogene.
