At this time, I have only traced my branch of the TERRY family back to (Edmund/Edward) TERRY,
born about 1815 in North Carolina. His wife was Mary PINEGAR (born about 1819 in Tennessee).
They were married in Dickson Co., TN on October 13, 1833.
When checking for PINEGAR connections, there was a Susan Pinegar that appeared in Dickson Co. TN
census of 1840. It is my understanding that she was the widow of Leonard Pinegar (who appeared
in 1830 Dickson Co. TN census), and that they were married in Stokes Co. NC on Aug. 28, 1817. They
had a daughter that fit the 'approximate range' of birth for Mary Pinegar-Terry! Leonard had a daughter who was
in the "5-10 yr" age bracket in 1830, but even if she was 10 years old, for Mary to have married
just three years later was a tad young to have been married in 1833 at the age of "13"...
There was one other PINEGAR who appeared in the 1830 Dickson Co. TN census: Elizabeth Penegar (who
fell in the age bracket of 30-40 yrs of age at that time). She also had a daughter that fit the
'approximate range' of birth for Mary Pinegar-Terry! ***(I'm leaning toward this "possible"
connection at this time because her daughter was "age 10-15" in 1830 - and for Mary to have
married in 1833, she would probably be in this older bracket) ...Who was Elizabeth's husband,
who had died before 1830...?
It is assumed at this time that Edmond/Edward (b. 1815, NC) was the son of Jason/Jasen TERRY, who married December 19, 1812 in Warren Co. North Carolina to Hannah WRIGHT. Jason/Jasen TERRY was residing in 1830 Dickson Co. TN and appeared with the following census data:

married in 1833 and 1838)...
It appears that Hannah Wright Terry was deceased by the 1840 census.
Based on this information and the early marriage records of Dickson Co. TN and their
proximity to one another, at this time I believe (not 100% concrete) that the children
of Jason TERRY were:
(1) Edmond/Edward TERRY b. 1815, NC - married Mary PINEGAR Oct. 1833 in Dickson Co., TN.
(2) Sally TERRY born Bet. 1812 - 1815, NC - married Abner PINEGAR in 1833, Dickson Co. TN
(no further info. on this line)
(3) Pruscilla L. Terry born Bet. 1820 - 1825, married Jesse COLEMAN in Dickson Co. TN in 1838
(no further info. at this time)
(4) Mary J. TERRY, born 1830, TN married Augustus PATREY (b. France) - no marriage date.
(5) Nancy TERRY, born Bet. 1830 - 1835, married John BROOKS - no marriage date.
(6) Robert TERRY, born 1826, TN, married Naomi Unknown (residing - 1880 Perry Co. TN census)
According to census records (1830 & 1840) and taking into account that Edmond, Sally and Pruscilla were married before 1840 - and were not enumerated with their father in the 1840 census, there are still four more children unaccounted for.... (three sons and a daughter).
A possible brother of Edmond/Edward TERRY "could" be David TERRY who was born in NC and settled
in Maury Co. TN about
the same time that Edmond/Edward came to TN. A "possible" sister of Edmond/Edward TERRY "could"
be Nancy TERRY who married Higdon MOORE in Warren Co. NC on July 28, 1810.
The Warren Co. NC connection needs to be researched further - there are many unanswered
questions...
