Mrs. Sweatt's Home, East Street

On the 20th of January, 1934, the dedication of this home as "The Pond Home" at 289 East Street took place.
Probably built by Nathaniel Ware about 1775 and later owned by his son-in-law Col. George Hawes, it was the home of William H Sweatt after 1925 and was bequeathed by his widow, Lizzie Sweatt, to the King's Daughters and Sons Home for the Aged.
