Wrentham's Railroad Passenger Station

The Wrentham Branch of the Old Colony Railroad from Walpole to Adamsdale opened through Wrentham center in 1890 and carried its first passengers on the 1st of December, 1890. The first train arrived at 7:14 and Oliver Goodspeed, Station Agent, had sold 168 tickets, 100 of them through to Boston and the remaining to Mansfield. Railroad service continued operation into the 1960s for freight only, passenger service having ended in 1938/39. The tracks were removed and the roadbed abandoned in the 1970s.
