This is a page just about Larry.  We have no idea why anybody but Larry would want to look at it.  But if you're curious what he used to look like before his current sad state, here's a clue.

Above, from left are the house where Larry lived in Castro Valley, CA from 1949 (after two years in San Lorenzo), pictures with his brothers Terry and Tony and father Milton (Bart), and Canyon High School, the new high school Larry graduated from in Castro Valley, after attending Hayward High and Foothill High in earlier years.

You might ask, "Why is this boy smiling?"  Well, it's because he's a senior who will soon graduate high school and has no idea of what's ahead of him.

The pictures below represent what little documentation there is of Larry's college days at Cal State,Hayward and San Jose State between 1965 and 1971.  These are from the Alpha Phi Beta (Larry's fraternity) scrap book.  If it seems like there was a lot of partying, you have a good picture of his college days.

The picture above, starting with the left side are:  the Alpha Phi Beta rush party where Larry was selected to rush, an Alpha Phi Beta beach party, the Alpha Phi Beta version of Hell Week, known as "the Island Trip,"  Larry getting his pin, making him an official "active" at the Formal Dinner, and his full Pledge Class at the Formal Dinner.

The first two pictures above are fraternity parties in the early, pre-Barbara days.  The last one on the right is a 1987 reunion of the fraternity held at Tyler Berding's house in Alamo.

College days eventually ended (though he did return for one more semester after the military pictures were taken.

The pictures above, from left, are two pictures taken while Larry was in Army (National Guard) boot camp in Fort Knox, Larry with future father-in-law Bud in 1972, and Larry with Best Man Keith Edwards minutes before wedding the lovely Barbara Lucile Clause (other wedding pictures are on another page).

While living in Clayton, Larry served as a Reserve Officer with the Clayton Police Department from 1982 through 1989.  The middle picture includes his brothers Tony and Terry, who were full-time police officers with the Hayward Police Department where Tony still works) at the time of the picture.  The third picture is Larry on duty, working the Clayton 4th of July celebration.

Gbye TI 88 Sm.jpg (42751 bytes)    This is one of the few pictures of Larry at work.  Most Navy activities where Larry has worked frown on cameras.  And, frankly, HR work is not very photogenicThis is Larry at his going away party thrown for him by his staff from Treasure Island in 1988

You've heard of "got the T-shirt?"  This is one that was produced to commemorate the closure of Mare Island Naval Shipyard, which Larry helped to close and which generated our move to Washington State.

Golf has been one of Larry's passions since about 1990

Above, from left, Larry and the kids drove a golf cart in the 1993 Clayton 4th of July parade to promote a benefit golf tournament Larry helped to put on.  The middle picture is Larry and his regular golf foursome before new jobs and relocations broke the old gang up for good in 1996.  From left are Charles Collins, Larry, Ron Scott, and Wayne Peterson.

Larry's most recent, but hopefully not his last, achievement was earning a Masters in Public affairs from Indiana University in 2001.  Below is a picture of Larry with his MPA classmates and at the party thrown by the school for the new graduates.
